Food and Stress for Highly Sensitive People

Many people are not aware of the relationship between food and stress because our culture treats food as a source of pleasure and hasn’t adequately made the connection between food and illness.

Food causes illness for a variety of reasons. The first cause is chemical: processed, artificial food is toxic for the body and disturbs the natural bodily processes. The second cause is food incompatible with the person: when a person eats food that is incompatible with their system or the season of year, they inadvertently create stress for themselves because the body has difficulty metabolizing the food. The food then clogs the body and starts the disease process. Thirdly, food will not be properly digested and assimilated if an individual is suffering from stress. Stress interferes with metabolism causing undigested food to accumulate and create disease.

Eating the right foods at the optimum time and under the best conditions aids digestive effectiveness leading to better health.
